Weekuri Lagoon, in southwest Sumba, is a natural saltwater pool cut off from the open ocean by a narrow limestone barrier, with water so clear and vividly turquoise that first-time visitors often assume the photos they've seen were edited — they generally aren't.

Swimming conditions
Unlike much of Sumba's dramatic but rough coastline, Weekuri is genuinely calm and safe for swimming — the rock barrier blocks ocean swell, leaving flat, clear water that's a rare, easy swimming spot on an island better known for surf breaks and cliffs than tranquil lagoons.
Getting there
The lagoon sits in a fairly remote part of southwest Sumba, generally reached by rented car or motorbike over roads that range from decent to rough — factor real travel time from Waikabubak or Tambolaka rather than expecting a quick stop.
What's there
Facilities are minimal — a few simple warungs, basic parking, not much else — which keeps the lagoon uncrowded and undeveloped compared to a similarly striking spot almost anywhere in Bali. Bring your own snorkel gear if you want to look beneath the surface.
