Vietnam Railways will launch a dedicated tourist train linking Hue City and Phong Nha on September 1, 2026, covering roughly 190km through central Vietnam and stopping at five stations: Hue, Dong Ha, My Trach, Dong Hoi and Tho Loc — the last serving as the gateway to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, home to some of the world's largest cave systems.

The outbound service departs Hue at 7:15am and reaches Tho Loc by around 11:55am, a roughly 4-hour-40-minute ride; the return trip departs Tho Loc at 1:15pm and arrives back in Hue by about 5:25pm. The eight-carriage train carries up to 304 passengers and includes modern interiors, digital commentary about the sites along the route, regional food service, and onboard cultural performances.
