Ninh Binh Sets a New Tourism Record: 17.6 Million Visitors in the First Half of 2026

Ninh Binh province, home to the Trang An Landscape Complex's karst towers and rice paddies, recorded nearly 17.6 million visitor arrivals in the first half of 2026, including 1.8 million foreign travelers and 15.8 million domestic ones — a 23.3% increase over the same period last year.

Tourism revenue reached nearly VND 18 trillion (around $684 million), up 21.75% year-on-year, hitting 88-90% of the province's full-year targets already at the halfway mark. Accommodation establishments alone served over 3.4 million visitors with 2.58 million overnight stays, up nearly 36% year-on-year.

The growth builds on Ninh Binh's rising international profile — often nicknamed 'Ha Long Bay on land' for its inland karst scenery — and the province has been nominated for Asia's Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2026 at the World Travel Awards.
