Phu Quoc's International Flights Are Up 72% This Year

New direct routes from Taipei, Seoul, Singapore, Warsaw and Bangkok have driven a sharp jump in international arrivals to Phu Quoc, alongside new resort openings including a JW Marriott expansion.

Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, saw a 72% year-on-year increase in international tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2026 alone, driven largely by a wave of new direct international routes — Sun PhuQuoc Airways launched direct Taipei service on 29 March 2026, with Seoul, Busan and Singapore routes following later in the year.

On a single day around Lunar New Year, the island recorded 50 international flights and over 30,000 passengers arriving — a record for the destination. Additional direct routes from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Warsaw have also been added by other carriers.

Resort capacity is expanding alongside the flight growth: JW Marriott is among the luxury brands expanding on the island, with several properties reporting record bookings as demand has grown.
