Russian Tourists to Vietnam Jumped 185.8% in the First Half of 2026

Vietnam welcomed nearly 12.3 million international visitors in the first half of 2026, up 14.9% year-on-year, with June alone bringing around 1.7 million arrivals (up 14.7% from June 2025). China (2.7 million) and South Korea (2.16 million) remained the top two source markets, together accounting for roughly 40% of all international arrivals.

Russia stood out as the standout growth story: 742,700 Russian visitors arrived in the first half of 2026, an increase of 185.8% year-on-year, making Russia Vietnam's third-largest source market — ahead of Taiwan (over 638,000) and the United States (nearly 530,000). Europe overall recorded the strongest regional growth at 56.1%.

Nha Trang, Phu Quoc and Da Nang have long been the beach destinations most associated with Russian visitors to Vietnam, and this scale of growth suggests demand well beyond a one-off seasonal spike — worth knowing if you're comparing notes with other Russian-speaking travelers on a Vietnam trip, since you're increasingly likely to run into some.
