#3 on Bali's Top 10 — Ubud
Naughty Nuri's
Legendary BBQ pork ribs and martinis since 1995 — Anthony Bourdain called them the best martinis in the world

Naughty Nuri's has been an Ubud institution since 1995, built entirely around two things: smoky BBQ pork ribs off a genuine charcoal grill, and martinis strong enough that Anthony Bourdain publicly rated them the best in the world. It's loud, casual, and completely unpretentious — the opposite end of the spectrum from Ubud's tasting-menu scene.
The ribs
The pork ribs are grilled over real charcoal right at the entrance — you can watch and smell them cooking before you're even seated. This is the entire reason the restaurant exists, and it delivers.
The martinis
Bourdain's endorsement wasn't hyperbole — these are genuinely strong, simple, well-made martinis, part of the restaurant's identity as much as the ribs are.
Practical tips
- —Come hungry and skip the tasting-menu mindset — this is a casual, hands-on, genuinely fun meal.
- —It gets busy and loud, especially in the evening — not the spot for a quiet conversation.
- —Multiple locations exist across Bali now, but the original Ubud spot is the one with the reputation.
