The Netherlands' usual draws — Amsterdam's canal rings, museums, and cycling-first culture — sit alongside something genuinely unusual on the sporting calendar: the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, a seaside dune circuit packed with a sea of orange-clad home fans unlike almost any other F1 crowd. Most first trips center on Amsterdam, with Zandvoort itself an easy half-hour train ride away rather than a separate trip.
Best time to visit
April–September for the best weather; Zandvoort's Grand Prix weekend in August turns the whole country a shade more orange than usual and is worth planning around deliberately either way
