ISU Council Names Tampere Host of 2027 World Figure Skating Championships

Finland's second-largest city, and its Nokia Arena, got the provisional nod from the International Skating Union to host the sport's biggest annual event.

The ISU Council announced the provisional allotment of Tampere, Finland as host of the 2027 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, running March 15–21, 2027, at Nokia Arena — a modern multi-purpose venue also used for ice hockey.

Finland has deep roots in ice sports, and Tampere's selection continues a pattern of the World Championships rotating through cities with strong existing hockey and skating infrastructure rather than one-off constructions.
