FIBA Confirms Four Doha Venues for 2027 Basketball World Cup, Two Years Out
FIBA has named Lusail Arena, Al Attiyah Arena, Duhail Arena and Al Janoub Stadium as hosts for the first Basketball World Cup ever held in the Arab world.
With exactly two years to go, FIBA confirmed the four Doha venues for the 2027 Basketball World Cup: Lusail Arena (semifinals and final), Al Attiyah Arena and Duhail Arena (both built for the 2015 Handball World Championship), and Al Janoub Stadium — notably the first stadium built for the 2022 football World Cup to be converted into a basketball venue.
The tournament, August 27–September 12, 2027, will be the first FIBA World Cup ever held in the Arab world, with all 92 games across the 32-team field played entirely within Doha.
